Heads of medium size, green, crispy, with excellent taste. Keep fresh for 1.5 months in the refrigerator.
Can be grown both outdoors and indoors. Grows best in humus-rich soil with good drainage.

The leaves contain proteins, carbohydrates, sugars, organic acids, salts of potassium, calcium, iodine, iron, phosphorus, manganese, cobalt, vitamins B, P, E and C, carotene, nitrogenous and pectin substances. Bitterness is due to the presence of lactucin and lactucirin.
The plant has a calming, analgesic, diuretic, mild hypnotic, antiscorbutic, regulating the action of the gastrointestinal tract properties.
The use of fresh leaves has a positive effect in the treatment of scurvy, hypertension, obesity, constipation, gastritis, diabetes, gastric and duodenal ulcers; is valuable for the nutrition of children and debilitated patients; helps to improve the water-salt balance of the body, normalizes the functioning of the digestive organs and the functions of the nervous system, eliminates the development of hypo- and beriberi, prevents the development of constipation and increases urination.
An aqueous infusion of crushed seeds increases the amount of milk in nursing mothers.
In folk medicine, an infusion of fresh lettuce leaves is prescribed for the treatment of disorders of the nervous system, increased emotional excitability, insomnia, beriberi, scurvy, gastritis, colitis, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, hepatitis, hypertension.
• 1 tbsp. a spoonful of fresh leaves in 1 cup of boiling water, leave for 2 hours, strain.
Take 1/2 cup 3 times daily before meals for diabetics.
• 1 tbsp. tablespoons of seeds in 1 cup of boiling water, leave for 2 hours, strain.
Take 1/2 cup 2-3 times a day for obesity.
